PLAINFIELD, Ind. -- Four people were injured in a two vehicle crash on I-70 in Hendricks County Friday afternoon.
The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-70 near SR 267.
Witnesses told Indiana State Police that a westbound Honda Accord rear-ended a Saturn that was stopped in the left lane of I-70.
The driver of the Saturn reportedly had stopped to help the driver of a Kia Soul that was stopped along the south side of the interstate next to the guardrail.
Two people in the Honda were taken to the hospital, including one who was airlifted.
A passenger from the Saturn, along with the person who was outside the Kia Soul, were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The accident remains under investigation.
Traffic on westbound I-70 was restricted for about two-and-a-half hours due to the crash.
