Dixie Chopper closes unexpectedly leaving more than 100 Hoosiers without jobs

COATSVILLE, Ind. -- More than 100 Hoosiers lost their job this week after Dixie Chopper in Coatsville closed unexpectedly. 

Textron Specialized Vehicles, the parent company for Dixie Chopper, closed the Hendricks County facility on Tuesday after a meeting with employees. 

In total, 107 employees lost their jobs, according to the company's notice to the state. 

Dixie Chopper produced residential, commercial and industrial lawn mowers. 

Textron bought the company in 2014.
