PITTSBORO, Ind. -- A new wheelchair accessible swing at a Pittsboro park makes sure everyone can have fun when they visit.
The first wheelchair accessible swing at Scamahorn Park was purchased through donations from the community.
Shawn Brown helped organize the funding to purchase the swing and said the best part of it was seeing the community come together.
"It was amazing. We're just a tiny town," Brown said. "Everybody pulled together to make the quality of life of people better."
Tracy Hise said she never thought her grandson, Harley, would get to enjoy normal things. Hise said they were told Harley "was going to be like a four-month-old baby his whole entire life" so the purchase of the swing and it's meaning is very special to her and her family.
"We have never held him back," Hise said. "We've encouraged him to do whatever. He's played baseball, he's ridden horses."
The swing cost $26,000 and is open for anyone to use.
