PLAINFIELD — One adult and two teenagers were involved in a hit-and-run crash on I-70 in Plainfield, around 3:30 p.m., on Thursday, January 17.

One teenager, a 17-year-old male, was ejected from the vehicle — a black 2004 Mercury. The other 17-year-old, female, and 22-year-old driver, female, were both reported to have suffered serious injuries.

All three patients were transported to IU Methodist Hospital. The teenage male ejected from the vehicle has been listed under critical condition, while the other two are being treated, but stable.

According to Sgt. John Perrine, investigators believe the black Mercury had been driving alongside a black SUV, when the collision happened. Once they collided, the Mercury spun out of control and struck a guardrail — neither of the teenage passengers were wearing a seat belt, the driver was.

The black SUV fled the scene.

Police are seeking information about this black SUV, that has damage to the front driver's side.

Anyone with information about the crash, or the black SUV that fled the scene is asked to call the Indiana State Police at 317-899-8577.
