Former caretaker arrested in murder of Brownsburg woman

BROWNSBURG, Ind. -- Two people have been arrested in connection with the muder of a 74-year-old Brownsburg woman who was found dead on her bedroom floor over the weekend. 

Kiesha Summerhill, 18, and Arion Cruthird, 19, were taken into custody in the 2300 block of LaSalle road Friday evening. Both have been charged with murder in connection with the death of Alice Wright. 

Brownsburg police were called to the 800 block of Stonehenge Drive after a woman said she had gone to check on her parents and found her mother, Alice, dead on the bedroom floor. According ot the Brownsburg Police Department an autopsy on Monday showed that she had died from "multiple traumas that complicated her hypertensive cardiovascular disease."

The woman also found her wheelchair-bound father lying on the floor of another room. He was taken to the hospital to be checked out but was not believed to be injured.

Detectives said there were no signs of forced entry to the residence and initially said there were no items taken from the home, but during a press conference on Friday investigators said they did discover several items removed from the home. 

Police say Summerhill was a former caretaker for the woman's husband. 

Summerhill and Cruthird are both charged with murder at this time. Additional charges are expected.
