KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. -- The Knightstown High School Baseball Team is collecting shoes for a fundraiser to buy sweatshirts, socks, and shirts for the players.  The goal is to collect 2,500 pairs of shoes which will earn the team roughly $1,000.

The shoes will serve another cause because they will be sent to countries in Central America so that small business owners can sell them at discounted prices.

Knightstown Baseball Coach Daren Hardesty says it's a way to help others that are less fortunate and it helps cut some of the cost for his players.

If you would like to donate your shoes you have until February 13.  Donation boxes are located at the following Knightstown businesses:  American Legion, Citizens State Bank, Hoosier Gym, Jeff's Pizza, and the First National Bank in Knightstown and New Castle.

You can also bring shoes to donate at the February 10 basketball game at Knightstown High School.
