BLOOMINGTON — It looks like Bloomington's historic Buskirk-Chumley Theater will live to see its 100th anniversary in 2022.
The performing arts venue on Kirkwood Avenue, which opened as a silent movie theater in 1922, closed in March when the pandemic hit.
Buskirk-Chumley will be back in business soon with its "Summer Breeze Film Series." Upcoming films include:
- July 10: "Back to The Future"
- July 11: "Singin' in The Rain"
- July 17: "The Breakfast Club"
As is the case with theaters across the state and country, Buskirk-Chumley will operate for now with limited seating capacity, to spread the audience out and encourage social distancing.
And yes, audience members must wear masks.
