INDIANAPOLIS — Three people escaped their home without injury after a large tree collapsed on the house during high winds.
It happened shortly before 4 p.m. Monday as a brief storm moved through the region.
According to officials with the Wayne Township Fire Department, firefighters responded to a house in the 1100 block of Delray Drive on report of a large tree that fell on a two-story house. Three occupants and several pets were able to make it out of the house without injury.

Firefighters said the house sustained serious structural damage.
The National Weather Service Indianapolis office reported a wind gust of 55 mph at Indianapolis International Airport, which is just south of the house, around the time the tree fell on the house.
