KOKOMO — A woman's death early Thursday in Kokomo has been ruled a homicide, according to police.
Kokomo police said an autopsy revealed that Jamea D. Parker, 28, of Kokomo, died of a single gunshot wound.
Parker was found in a driveway outside a home in the area of Buckeye and Butler streets shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Howard County Coroner Steve Seele.
Police said Parker was at Great Escape Bar and Grill, 2411 N. Washington St., at approximately 3 a.m. Officers responded to the bar around 3 a.m. on report of multiple shots fired. The area where Parker was found is approximately a half-mile away from the bar.
The case remains under investigation.
