A Hamilton Southeastern School District bus driver accused of hitting and killing a runner before the Geist Half Marathon is now facing a felony charge.

David McCollum, 69, was charged with failure to stop after an accident resulting in death, according to court documents filed Thursday.

Erin Harris, 34, of Fishers, was killed as she was getting ready for the annual marathon just after 6 a.m. on May 17. She was hit by the bus on Olio Road.

Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
