BEDFORD — The human remains found in October in a wooded area of Bedford have been identified as a man missing since August, police say.

The remains were identified as Brian Blomquist, 49, of Orleans, by a team from the Human Identification Center at the University of Indianapolis, according to a press release from the Bedford Police Department.

Dr. Krista Latham, who is the director of the center, and her team, submitted a bone sample to the Indiana State Police lab to create a DNA profile, according to the release. The profile was entered in a system to locate a match.

The remains were located by someone walking their dog on Oct. 25 near 22nd and F streets, according to the release.
