INDIANAPOLIS—The first day of summer is also opening day for the Marion County Fair in Indianapolis and the Hancock County Fair in Greenfield.

Other county fairs follow, leading up to this year's Indiana State Fair, beginning August 2.

The Marion County Fair opens at 5 p.m. on weekdays and at noon on Saturday and Sunday.

The fairgrounds is located at 7300 East Troy Avenue, on the Indianapolis southeast side.

Admission is $5, while children five and under get in free, as do members of the military with valid ID. Parking is free.

This year's headline feature is Dino-ROAR, which will be doing performances every day. Children learn all sorts of dinosaur facts by seeing eight life-like animatronic dinosaurs.
