INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana State Police are reminding parents to check the candy their children receive on Halloween.

State police in Lowell seized packages that were labeled Skittles and Starburst, but included images of marijuana plants and the term "medicated," according to a Facebook post Monday.

"While they are packaged and marketed to look like candy, they are not," the post said. "You have to look closely to see the 'Medicated' wording."

The bags also include a California warning label that indicates the products contain cannibis.

"Please thoroughly check all candy and don't assume it's 'OK' just because it looks 'OK,'" state police said.
