INDIANAPOLIS -- The winner of Powerball's 10th largest jackpot was an Indiana man who wishes to remain anonymous.

The $435 million prize was claimed on Monday during a press conference held by Hoosier Lottery officials at Ivy Tech State College.

The winner chose to remain anonymous but sent a representative from Bohemian Financial LLC to collect his prize.

The representative said the winner is a Lafayette native who had bought ten tickets on his way to work on the day of the drawing.

The jackpot winner has decided to take the lump sum payment and will receive $189.1 million after state and federal taxes. He plans to use the funds to help his siblings and parents, buy a new car and to travel and visit family.

Super Test Inc., the retailer where the winning ticket was sold in Lafayette, received a $100,000 check as well.

“A major jackpot is like winning the Super Bowl,” said Hoosier Lottery Executive Director Sarah Taylor.

Hoosier Lottery has paid out over $1 million in the past 12 months leading up to Monday’s jackpot winning payout, according to Taylor.

She said the lottery gave $281 million to the state of Indiana in 2016.
