INDIANAPOLIS – A firefighter saved his young child’s life after severe weather sent a tree crashing onto his house early Friday morning.
The tree fell into the 14-month-old child’s bedroom sending parts of the roof and drywall on top of the child’s playpen.
When Ross McKee heard the crash, he ran into the room and said his child was covered with debris.
“I didn’t see him in there at first but he lifted up when I got stuff off of him. He lifted up and knew I was here,” said McKee.
Fortunately, the child did not suffer any serious injuries.
McKee said he and his family are waiting for their insurance company to assess the damage.
