INDIANAPOLIS—More parking spaces are coming to Indianapolis International Airport.
The airport authority board Friday gave the go ahead for a project that will add 1500 spaces to the main parking structure—the one that's connected to the terminal. Each of the garage's five floors will be expanded.
500 of the new spaces will be for the public and 1000 will be for rental cars. As explained by the airport authority, continued growth of the rental car companies created the need for more spaces.
The current airport terminal and garage opened in 2008. The parking expansion project has a tentative completion date of mid-2021.
