INDIANAPOLIS — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is seeking the public's help identifying a suspect responsible for the burglary of an Indianapolis gun store over the weekend.
According to a report from the ATF, an unknown suspect broke into the Indy Trading Post, 2851 Madison Ave., around 3:45 a.m. Sunday by breaking a window and forcing entry through a door. Once inside, the suspect broke the glass on a display case, took five pistols and left the business.
The ATF and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are jointly investigating the case.
According to the report, the ATF is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible. The National Shooting Sports Foundation, the trade association for the firearms industry, is matching the reward for a total reward of up to $5,000.
