INDIANAPOLIS — A major fundraiser for the Wheeler Mission is underway Thanksgiving morning: the 16th Annual Drumstick Dash. But, as runners make their way through the 2.75-mile or 4.6-mile course, you can expect road closures.
The starting time for the race is 9 a.m., so you can expect the closures to begin early Thursday morning. Major roads that will be closed include Broad Ripple Avenue, Keystone Avenue, Kessler Boulevard East Drive, College Avenue, Central Avenue, and 66th Street.
The good news is, these closures are rolling, so once the final runner makes their way past, the road opens back up. The hope is for all of the roads to be back up and running by 11 a.m.
WAYS TO GET AROUND:
To avoid delays, good options to get around are Allisonville Road on the east, 71st Street on the north, Meridian Street or Spring Mill Road on the west, or 52nd Street on the south.
PARKING OPTIONS:
- Neighborhood Streets
- Behind Broad Ripple High School
- Christ the King Catholic School
- Local Parking Garages
