INDIANAPOLIS -- A 7-year-old was struck by a vehicle Friday morning while walking to a bus stop on the northeast side of Indianapolis.

Emergency responders were called to the 4100 block of North Wittfield Street around 7:30 p.m. and found the girl injured.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers said the girl was possibly struck by a white SUV driven by a Hispanic male.

Police say it is possible that the driver left the scene because he did not see the child.

Anyone with information on the incident should contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
