INDIANAPOLIS -- The downtown Indianapolis Noodles & Company has closed, a couple months after it suffered flooding damage from a nearby fire.

On July 30, two vehicles in the "World of Wonders" parking garage caught fire. Indianapolis Fire Department crews were able to put the fire out quickly, but the restaurant was damaged by a water pipe breaking.

There were about six inches of standing water in the Noodles & Company at 121 W. Maryland St., an IFD spokesperson said at the time.

A Noodles & Company spokesperson said the permanent closure was due to the damage from the water. There are no plans to relocate, they said.

Last year, Noodles & Company closed 55 of its 510 stores nationwide.
