INDIANAPOLIS — An end-of-summer outdoor concert event at the White River State Park was announced Thursday by the park and Downtown Inc.

The event, scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 26, will feature local bands Nauti Yachtys and Toy Factory at the amphitheater, according to a press release. The Groovin' Back Downtown event will also feature entertainment by DJ Gno, food trucks, beer, and wine.

“We could not be more excited to offer this event in partnership with White River State Park as part of our #BackDowntownIndy campaign,” said Bob Schultz, senior vice president of marketing, communication, and events for Downtown Indy, Inc.

“This is yet another fantastic opportunity to get out and enjoy the city that we all love in safe and measured ways," Schultz said in the release. "We want folks to arrive early and stay late and support the many Downtown restaurants and retailers who are especially struggling due to canceled conventions and large-scale events.”

All tickets will be sold at the park on the day of the event and range from $5-$15 and are limited to the first 1,800 attendees, according to the release. Seating will follow social distancing guidelines.

Attendees are required to wear a mask unless eating or drinking and follow social distancing guidelines, according to the release.

“The pandemic has taken its toll on all of us and we know that many are looking for activities that can be enjoyed safely," Carolene Mays-Medley, executive director of the White River State Park Development Commission, said in the release. "Fortunately, White River State Park and the Amphitheater at White River State Park are the perfect venues to host such an event while providing ample space for social distancing. We hope that people will head downtown for a fun-filled day while supporting some of our local talent and businesses.”
