INDIANAPOLIS -- Two people were hospitalized Friday morning after their car went off an interstate ramp, went airborne, and crashed into stacked metal beams.
Shortly before 9 a.m., a vehicle that was traveling east on I-70 attempted to exit at Shadeland Avenue. Instead of exiting, the vehicle drove off a ramp, was airborne for 50 feet, then made a 25-foot vertical drop into the rear lot of an Interstate Batteries complex.
The vehicle crashed through a fence and knocked over a pile of steel beams that had been in the lot.
