Woman's death on Indianapolis' east side now being investigated as a homicide

INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman's death on Indianapolis' east side Wednesday morning is now being investigated as a homicide. 

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers say 911 received a call shortly before 11:30 a.m. that someone was dead at the Chatham Walk townhomes in the 8000 block of East 20th Street.

The victim is female, but police have no other information to release at this time.

Wednesday evening, detectives updated the case to a homicide. No details about why or how the woman died have been released.
