INDIANAPOLIS — A female was transported to Eskenazi hospital and an officer was injured after an officer-involved incident at an east side church on Wednesday night.
According to Deputy Chief Chris Bailey, a crisis of sorts had been going on for at least an hour before Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived on the scene at Great Mt. Calvary Apostolic Church.
When officers tried to diffuse the situation, the female resisted law enforcement, according to Chief Bailey.
One of the IMPD officers suffered an injury while trying to restrain the female. Once handcuffed, officers noticed she was not breathing and began CPR.
Once medics regained a pulse, she had been transported to the hospital.
The situation remains under investigation by IMPD.
