INDIANAPOLIS -- Plastic bags scattered in downtown Indianapolis Thursday contained flyers for the Ku Klux Klan.

The flyers preached about white pride and said 'God bless the Ku Klux Klan.'

People who found plastic baggies that contained the flyers around Monument Circle were shocked.

"I was walking to work and I found it. There were multiple bags strewn about," said Brandon Evans.

"It is meant to hurt people of color. It is mean to hurt women. It is meant to hurt minorities. It's mean to hurt those people but I think ultimately everybody is harmed by it," said Miranda Hambro.

The group on the flyers is the East Coast Knights of the True Invisible Empire

RTV6 called number listed on the flyer. We got a voicemail which said to leave a message for more information about how to become a member of their group.

Indiana is one of only five states in the country that does not have any type of hate crime laws on the books, and it will stay that way. On Tuesday, lawmakers killed the latest attempt at hate crime legislation.
