INDIANAPOLIS — “Closed for renovation.”
That’s the sign people showing up at the Peppy Grill for a late-night burger and fries are seeing.
The little restaurant that’s been a landmark in the Fountain Square neighborhood of Indianapolis since the early 1950s has been gutted
Its manager says the Peppy Grill needs a fresh look and should reopen next February or March.
The renovation includes a new ceiling, flooring and seating – along with a modernized kitchen.
There will also be an outside eating area.
Fountain Square is a popular eating destination these days and business has been off at the old school Peppy Grill.
But one thing won’t change with the renovation, the “hamburgs” sign out front along Virginia Avenue stays.
