INDIANAPOLIS -- Rufus 'Bud' Myers, the head of the Indianapolis Housing Agency, has retired and left his post.
A staff meeting was held Wednesday morning to discuss the news.
Myers has served as the executive director of IHA for nearly 18 years, according to a release.
“Leaving a job you love is never easy but it’s something we all will encounter the longer we live and remain committed to the work we have been called to do," Myers said in a release. "Serving as executive director of the Indianapolis Housing Agency has been one of the greatest joys of my career. The IHA staff, board of directors, our city leaders and stakeholders have worked tirelessly to improve the affordable housing landscape in our city and I commend them for a job well done.”
The IHA board announced that Jennifer Green of Insight Development Corporation will serve as interim executive director until Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett announces a new executive director.
