INDIANAPOLIS — Icy roads quickly developed Monday evening, causing a series of crashes on multiple interstate and bridges across central Indiana.

The icing began as the sun went down around 5 p.m. and conditions deteriorated over the next 30 minutes, causing quick-freezing on bridges and untreated roadways.
