INDIANAPOLIS — A young Indianapolis girl says an Indianapolis Fire Department dispatcher is her new "best friend." They're forever connected through a life or death situation.

Last week, 10-year-old Hayley McKinley called 911 after her mother lost consciousness.

IFD dispatcher, Kris Mayfield, talked Hayley through CPR until first responders arrived.

You can listen to the 911 call that saved Hayley's mom's life in the player above.

RTV6's photojournalist, Jake Weller, was there as the two met for the first time on Friday night. You can watch a video of their interaction in the player above, as well.

Haley's mom is still in the hospital recovering.

Statelawmakers are considering a bill to standardize CPR training requirements for 911 dispatcher in Indiana.
