INDIANAPOLIS – When Indiana’s eviction moratorium expires on Friday, the state’s largest housing authority will not allow mass evictions.
The Indianapolis Housing Agency Board of Commissioners approved a proposal that allows residents to have a repayment policy on unpaid rent rather than face eviction.
Some IHA residents can qualify for lower rent through a change of income form.
“We understand that the pandemic has particularly impacted our residents, who may struggle with income," IHA Executive Director John E. Hall said. "This emergency policy will allow the agency to give residents another opportunity to catch up on their rent obligations and prevent eviction."
