INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis Special Olympian became the second ever to qualify for the Boston Marathon on time alone Saturday.
Andrew Peterson, who was born with fetal alcohol syndrome, competed in the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon and finished the race in 2 hours and 57 minutes, 2 minutes faster than the time needed to qualify for the Boston Marathon in 2019.
Peterson was given the gift of running. Not only does he run, he runs fast, really fast. He has the fitness, stamina, and speed to be an elite runner, but, according to his dad, he has had a tough time getting groups to accept him and train with him.
