INDIANAPOLIS -- Construction is well underway on the new IndyGo Red Line and the city is showing off their first purchase of the new state-of-the-art transportation line.
The new route is part of the Rapid Transit Project, which is expected to significantly improve public transportation in Indianapolis.
The new buses won't only be more efficient, they'll also be better for the environment. The electric buses run on just a battery that can go 275 miles on a single charge and with the solar paneling on the roof, most of that will be coming right from the sun.
IndyGo says the electric buses are more efficient, longer lasting, better for the environment and your health.
