INDIANAPOLIS — Women and children at the Julian Center - a shelter for victims of domestic abuse - now have a great gift this Valentine's Day.
The Junior League of Indianapolis dropped off dozens of socks to help fulfill the center's mission.
More than 120 pairs of socks were distributed to the women and children today, with the aim of keeping families warm during winter.
"The Junior League of Indianapolis is providing socks b/c its a basic need," Stacy Payne, President of Junior League of Indianapolis, said. "Women and children come to the shelter with not much. This fulfills a need."
The Junior League says they wanted to help make those families stay at the Julian Center more comfortable.
Last year, they donated more than 200,000 dollars back into the community.
