LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, Ind. -- After 42 seasons coaching the Lawrence North Wildcats, coach Jack Keefer now has 700 wins under his belt.

Coach Keefer is the one and only head basketball coach at Lawrence North High School.

The team took home the win Wednesday night following their 2017-2018 season opener against the Park Tudor Panthers.

Keefer began his coaching career at Frankfort High School, then his alma mater Oak Hill High School, before settling at Lawrence North in 1976.

Since then, he has led the team to 4 state championships, 4 semi-states, 6 regionals, 13 sectional championships, and 3 Indiana Hall of Fame tournaments.

He was also named the 2005-2006 National Coach of the Year in high school basketball, the same year the Wildcats had a perfect season record with 29 wins and zero losses.

Wednesday night’s win marks 761 total victories during his coaching career, which ties Keefer as the 3rd all-time winningest coach in the history of Indiana high school basketball.
