LAWRENCE — One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Lawrence early Sunday.
According to a report from Lawrence police, the crash happened shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday on Fox Road near Pennycroft Drive.
Police said the vehicle was traveling east on Fox Road when the vehicle went off the road and crashed into a tree. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of family.
The circumstances that led up to the crash remain under investigation, police said.
Fox road was closed for approximately four hours as police investigated the crash.
