INDIANAPOLIS -- A man has been arrested in connection with a deadly crash on I-70 on Indianapolis' west side Saturday morning.
The crash happened just after 10 a.m. on I-70 just past the airport exit.
Indiana State Police say two vehicles had slid off the road in the area just before a pickup slid off the road, hit the base of a light pole and rolled several times.
Troopers say the backseat passenger, Marshall Gale, 78, of Missouri, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck, Rafael Ramirez of Missouri, was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
After his release, Ramirez was arrested for driving with suspended causing death.
Investigators believe road conditions were a factor in the crash as well as speed to fast for weather conditions.
