INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department received a call on Friday evening about a robbery happening at EZ Pawn, on the west side of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers saw three robbery suspects exiting the store, one of which was armed, IMPD said.

The suspect that was armed turned and pointed a firearm at the officer and the officers fired a shot, IMPD said in a press release early Saturday morning.

All three suspects then fled the scene with some of EZ Pawn's property in a neighborhood.

Police officers, police K-9s and SWAT officers set up a four-block perimeter around the shop at 3376 West 10th Street. They were unable to located the suspects, according to the press release from IMPD.

At least one officer will be placed on administrative duty for firing his weapon, officials said.

It is unknown if any of the suspects were injured. No officers were injured.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
