INDIANAPOLIS -- Marion County officials are recommending customers who ate at the Fresco Italian Café in Indianapolis on Aug. 6 get a hepatitis A vaccine.
The Marion County Public Health Department said, "the Fresco Italian Café has maintained appropriate food service standards and, after additional inspection by the Marion County Public Health Department, has cooperated with recommendations and will continue to maintain these standards."
A manager said it was a part-time employee who had the disease.
Those who may have come in contact with hepatitis A should get can get the vaccine within two weeks to prevent the disease.
The vaccine will be available free of charge to those who ate or drank at the Fresco Italian Café on Aug. 6. To find a district health office, you can visit the health department's website.
Common signs and symptoms of the hepatitis A are:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Abdominal pain
- Fever
- Jaundice
Health officials say that not everyone will experience symptoms, especially children.
