The Indiana Department of Health has reported their third flu-related death in the state this flu season, a significant drop from this time last year.
The numbers, released December 28, show the three people who have died so far this season were all over the age of 50.
Flu activity in Indiana is currently listed as Regional.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, four children died from flu-related illness over the past week and 11 children have died from flu-related illness so far this season across the country.
CDC reported 4 more flu-related pediatric deaths this week, bringing the total to 11 for the 2018-19 #fluseason. About 80% of reported flu-related pediatric deaths occur in children who haven't been fully vaccinated: https://t.co/yxkwdzCctN pic.twitter.com/Q9rIrmn1Or
