INDIANAPOLIS – Police are investigating after a person was found dead inside a dumpster Sunday morning at an apartment complex on the southside as a homicide.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called around 10 a.m. in the 300 block of Teddy Lane, at the Country Club Apartments on the report of a body in the dumpster, according to a press release.
IMPD homicide detectives are investigating the death. Detectives said Monday the death is being investigated as a homicide.
This marks the 157th criminal homicide of the year in Indianapolis, moving passed 155 criminal homicides in 2017.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
An autopsy is scheduled after Christmas, according to IMPD. An exact date has not been released.
