INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis woman's precious wedding dress was stolen out of a vehicle at an apartment complex.
Jessica Blackwell lives at the Southern Dunes Apartments on Indianapolis' southwest side. She said the wedding dress was in the trunk of her husband's vehicle either late Sunday night or early Monday morning because he was about to go drop it off at a cleaner.
"All I can think of is WHY didn’t we wait until today and also how I’ll never be able to hand my dress down to my daughters.. or who would do this to someone," Blackwell wrote on Facebook.
She admitted she shouldn't have left it in the vehicle.
"It was a mistake," she said. "I shouldn't have put it in the car. I should have just done it this morning. There are bad people everywhere."
Blackwell got married to her husband in August. She is asking people to keep an eye out for the dress.
The dress is a blush and champagne size 14 Morilee. It has been altered on the top through the waist with a long train and a sheer core.
"My heart is broken right now," she wrote.
