Two people shot, one critically, at gas station on Indy's west side

INDIANAPOLIS -- Two people were shot during what witnesses describe as an exchange of gunfire at a gas station on Indianapolis' west side Saturday afternoon. 

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the scene near the intersection of Georgetown Road and 38th Street just after 3:30 p.m.

One victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The second victim was taken to the hospital with what police are calling non-life threatening injuries. Neither victim has been identified. 

Police say multiple weapons were used during the shooting, including at least one assault rifle. 

Police say no arrests have been made in the shooting but they are still speaking with witnesses and have identified a potential suspect.

The shooting remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
