INDIANAPOLIS -- Traffic was slow moving on southbound Interstate 465 near the I-69 split due to construction.

Crews are patching the concrete pavement on I-465 between I-69 and I-70 on Fridays starting 9 p.m. through Mondays at 6 a.m. Preparation work will be done on Thursday nights.

Indiana Department of Transportation says drivers should expect significant delays over the weekends.

To avoid the delays, motorists are urged to follow the lane restrictions or find an alternative route.

INDOT says the project is expected to be completed in October. An exact completion date has not been announced.
