INDIANAPOLIS-- A woman sitting on a child seat in the back of a car was killed when the car slammed into a median on I-465 early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the 10th Street ramp on I-465 just after 4:30 a.m.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers on the scene say a female passenger was sitting on top of a car seat in the back seat of the car at the time of the crash. She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The woman has been identified as Sena Rufai, 30, by the Marion County Coroner.

The driver and another passenger inside the car are expected to be okay.

Police believe alcohol may have contributed to the crash and the driver will undergo a blood alcohol test to determine if that was the case.

The crash remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
