INDIANAPOLIS--  More than 160 volunteers from Rolls-Royce spent the day Wednesday improving the lives of students in Wayne Township.

The company’s workers read with elementary school students, organized materials for instructors, talked with business students at Ben Davis High School about how business functions and painted.

Rolls-Royce volunteers also took their volunteerism outside by pulling weeds, mowing, trimming and mulching.

They also helped construct a natural outdoor playground at Wayne Township Preschool.

“Rolls-Royce is a tremendous community partner for the MSD of Wayne Township and has provided ongoing support to our students for many years,” said Mary Lang, spokeswoman for MSD of Wayne Township.

Rolls-Royce employs more than 4,000 people in Indianapolis who work in manufacturing, assembly, test, engineering and a variety of staff support roles.

Today, more Rolls-Royce products are built in Indianapolis than anywhere else in the world, according to the company’s website.
