SPEEDWAY, Ind. -- Race fans who come to this year’s Indianapolis 500 can check out a new hotel taking shape in the town of Speedway, and make plans to check in next year.
The Courtyard by Marriott in the new Speedway Marketplace is on track to open in mid-November. It’s been under construction for nearly a year already, as ground was broken in May 2017.
The hotel represents a $12 million dollar investment in the Crawfordsville Road corridor. The hotel will have 98 rooms, a bistro, gym, pool and a bar. Courtyard by Marriott executive Neal Patel told RTV6 the company has hired an interior designer to get custom artworks related to Speedway.
The Speedway Courtyard by Marriott is located off Crawfordsville Road near I-465 and High School Road.
It’s just one of the many new businesses added in the past year in the Speedway Marketplace, which also includes a GetGo Gas Station and Market, Burger King, Starbucks and sports facilities D1 and The Factory.
