INDIANAPOLIS -- Wayne Township Trustee Andy Harris is personally footing the bill for buttons aimed at helping the family of Aaron and Alexandra Koffi who died Sunday in a car crash.

Harris’s office is selling the buttons for $5 to help the Koffi family pay for funeral expenses.

"Community comes together during tragedy and we all need to come together,” said Harris. “Unfortunately, families do not have life insurance for their children. They normally have it for their spouse but not their kids.  This has happened in the past in Wayne Township.”

You can pick up a button from 8:30 am to 4 pm at the Wayne Township Government Center located at 5403 West Washington Street.

Alexandria, 17, and Aaron, 13, were killed when their car that collided with an SUV around 3 p.m. Sunday in the 8400 block of W. Washington Street. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

The Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township says Alexandria was a junior at Ben Davis High School and Aaron was a seventh grader at the Lynhurst 7th & 8th Grade Center.

Visitation for Alexandra and Aaron will be held Thursday, March 1, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Chapel Rock Christian Church, 2020 N. Girls School Road, Indianapolis.

Their funerals will take place on Friday, March 2 at noon, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 5201 W. 16th Street, Indianapolis.
