INDIANAPOLIS -- The YMCA on Indianapolis' northeast side was cleared by a bomb squad Monday evening after a threat was called in to the building.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Bomb Squad was called to the Avondale Meadows YMCA building at 3908 Meadows Drive around 8 p.m.
Police say an employee at the YMCA received a threatening phone call and one of the staff members noticed a suspicious item in the building. Employees quickly evacuated everyone that was inside.
The bomb squad checked that item and deemed it safe.
The bomb squad also gave the building a full check before giving the "all clear." No dangerous items were found.
