INDIANAPOLIS — Before it begins a national search for a new superintendent, the Indianapolis Public Schools wants to hear from the public.
A series of meetings begin today at 1 p.m. at the Hawthorne Community Center, 2440 West Ohio Street.
Dr. Lewis Ferebee left IPS to become chancellor of the Washington D.C. schools.
The meetings offer the public a chance to weigh in on what qualities and priorities a new superintendent should bring to the district.
The public feedback will be used to help IPS come up with a job description as it searches for a new leader.
Here is a list of the three meetings:
- February 27. 1 p.m. at Hawthorne Community Center, 2440 West Ohio Street.
- March 7. 6 p.m. at Arsenal Tech High School, 1500 East Michigan Street.
- March 13, 6 p.m. at George Washington Carver School 87, 2411 Indianapolis Avenue.
