GREENWOOD — A Johnson County man was struck and killed on U.S. 31 in Greenwood late-Wednesday.
Greenwood Police Chief John Laut said the pedestrian was dead at the scene after being hit on the highway, south of the Greenwood Park Mall.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, according to Laut. No charges are expected to be filed.
The victim's name has not been released.
Laut said the area where the crash happened is not well lit.
